Interest Meeting for Perspective Foster Parents
Thursday, 06 April 2017 10:16

The Perquimans County Department of Social Services wants to hold an interest meeting for perspective foster parents in our area.  We are in desperate need of the homes, as we currently do not have any licensed through our agency.  This meeting will be an interest meeting only to find out how many people would be willing to complete the training to become a foster parent.  This meeting also applies to any one who wishes to become an adoptive parent as well.  The training has not been scheduled yet because the agency needs to find out how many would be willing to attend in order to get all of the materials prepared.  Once the training is scheduled it would last 10 weeks, 3 hours per week, a total of 30 hours in training.  Once the parents have completed the training, then the process of licensing the home will take place.  The total process to become a foster parent takes approximately 6 months.  The meeting will take place on May 3, 2017 at 6 pm.  The location will be in the meeting room at the Perquimans Parks and Rec Center located at 310 Granby Street, Hertford, NC  27944.  If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact Sherry Schrodt at 252-426-7373 or via e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
