Offices Closed - Labor Day Holiday

Except for the Sheriff’s Department, Dispatch Office and Emergency Medical Services, all County Offices in the Perquimans County Courthouse, Courthouse Annex, Social Services, Agricultural Extension Service, Perquimans County Library and the Perquimans County Recreation Department will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2018 for observance of Labor Day.  In addition, the Perquimans County Library will be closed on September 1, 2018.  The Water Department will be closed but emergencies may be reported to the Dispatch Office by calling 426-5751.  The Board of Commissioners Meeting scheduled for Monday, September 3rd, has been changed to Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. due to the holiday.

Seeking to fill several positions for the Perquimans County Community Advisory Committee from 8- 24 hours per quarter - Major Responsibility: To uphold the intent of the NC Resident Bill of Rights. Applicant must reside in Perquimans County and cannot live in, work at, or have a financial interest in the long-term care facilities that he/she will serve. You may also not have an immediate family member in the facilities that you serve. To serve, you must be 18, live in the county and be willing to give your time. The estimate of time spent performing required duties includes attendance at meetings, conducting both official and friendly visits to the facilities, and other activities to benefit long term care residents.  This is a volunteer position.  If interested, please contact the County Manager’s Office at (252) 426-8484 to obtain an application or complete the two applications below.  For more information, go to

Public Service Announcement - Road Closure - Creek Drive

North Carolina Department of Transportation plans to close US 17 Business/Creek Drive to facilitate the removal and replacement of Bridge #19 over Brights Mill Creek with a new concrete structure beginning Monday, July 9, 2018.  The completion date is scheduled for November 30, 2018.  Detour signs will be posted for travel around the closure.  For more information and a map, go to
